The Travis County Medical Society (TCMS) is a component society of the Texas Medical Association, a statewide professional organization of licensed physicians. The Society's 2,000 members include approximately 90% of the physicians practicing in the greater Austin area. Members of the Association and the Society have joined together to share medical knowledge and raise the standard of medical care in Texas. Other goals include assistance in enacting and enforcing medical practice and public health laws in Texas and informing the public of important medical issues.
